for a Community Urban Farm
The Farm at Halley Rise is a .4–.5 acre urban farm in Reston, Virginia, created as a place to connect with nature, community, and local food. It grows a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers, and regularly hosts public programs and seasonal events for families. The farm opened in 2022 and is operated with an emphasis on sustainability and community engagement.
I support the grand opening with a cohesive visual presence and on-site experience:
• Create a logo that could evolve across programming and outreach.
• Produce large-scale prints and environmental pieces to activate the space on day one.
• Ensure the identity could extend into community activities and seasonal events (tours, fall festivals, workshops).

Outcome & Ongoing Use
The identity system and inaugural prints helped establish a cohesive first impression at launch, while giving the team tools to carry the look into recurring events (farm tours, family activities, seasonal festivals). The farm continues to serve as a community hub for learning, wellness, and food access in Reston.
